Sometimes, I just get tired.

Tired of always being the one who has to point out how problematic certain things are to people who don’t see race the way I’m forced to, tired of being that girl, tired of being Professor Negro, tired of explaining why I don’t like X show or Y movie or Z author, tired of speaking up when it’d be easier to just stay quiet, tired of staying quiet when I want so badly to speak up.
